Our story
Founded in 1891.
Still doing the work.
Live Oak was founded twenty-six years after Emancipation, the same year the railroad gave Ailey its post office. The church raised a schoolhouse next door, buried its builders with honor, and called its children home every generation since.
Walk through the story
A special project of the church
The Live Oak
Legacy Project.
Behind the church rests the ground that holds our families: more than five hundred memorials, reaching back to the founding generation. Our Cemetery Committee is restoring it, grave by grave and name by name.
Giving
Every gift carries the church forward.
Tithes & Offerings
The steady giving that carries the ministry of the church week by week.
Building Fund
Caring for the church building, inside and out, for the next generation.
